“Get me the details…Merry Christmas…”
Me in disbelief – thinking it would take months to raise enough money for the cost of the hotel at the Chromosome 18 Conference alone – my eyes fill up with tears…
“…consider it a donation…I insist….”
I can’t read the screen anymore. I try blinking. The tears won’t fall. I try rubbing my eyes hoping my contacts don’t come out in the process. The tears keep filling my eye lids and won’t fall. I can’t read the computer screen!!! What is going on?!?
An unbelievable donation came in…
….someone offered to take care of our hotel in Savannah, Georgia at the Chromosome 18 Conference!!
I am soooo blessed with amazing people in my life.
Making it to the conference will not only be uplifting and an amazing experience, but it will teach us SO much!
I can’t wait to get a better understanding of Chromosome 18 abnormalities. Being able to stay in the same hotel as the other families will be just another way for us to connect with the other families, get to know their stories on a more personal level, compare them to Ryan’s, and will teach us all how we can help each other just by being together! I look forward to that connection. I look forward to the information I learn. And I pray I will be able to retain it all as I’m sure I’ll be overwhelmed with SO much information in that time!
Britney can’t wait to have the connection with other siblings and what they can teach her. She can’t wait to learn more about her brother.
We all can’t wait to see Britney’s first best friend and her mom from when we lived in Washington – who we’ll visit while in the Savannah area. We can’t wait to see one of my best friends from High School and her family who lives in Savannah and takes our pictures every summer she comes “home” to Wisconsin.
We’ll probably stop in Ohio on the way to or on the way back from Savannah to cut the trip in half – and see friends we met in Texas.
To the person who has made that offer – THANK YOU. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!
The bulk of the money we had to raise for this trip would be going to the cost of the hotel… You have lifted a HUGE weight off of my shoulders, and for that I am extremely grateful. The money we will continue to raise will be put towards the cost of the conference itself (approximate $100-$200 per person). Anything more we raise will go right back to the Chromosome 18 Registry and Research Society!
To the person who has given us the gift of a place to stay where the conference is held, I don’t think I have words to describe how unbelievably grateful we are for your gift!
Your kindness and generous offer is accepted in admiration and I am in awe of your selflessness.
